All the Little Details {Clickin Moms Creativity Blog Circle}

Photography is definitely something I am passionate about.  Each year my goal is to challenge myself to grow and become more creative as a photographer.  Last year you may have seen on my blog that I participated in weekly photography challenge with my Lens Baby mom's group.  It was definitely fun and I felt like I learned quite a bit from it.

This year I have the opportunity to participate in a monthly blog circle with a group of extremely talented and creative women.  I know these women through Clickin Moms - which is an absolutely wonderful online forum for photographers.  How it works is each month we are given a new challenge that will encourage us to try new techniques with our photography and will hopefully help stretch our creativity.  This month's challenge was "Up Close Portraiture".

As a photographer often one of my goals is to never "chop" any limbs off a person when I take pictures.  So I make a point to step back some so that I can capture everything.  So this was definitely a new perspective for me.  And it is an awesome way to capture all of those little details I hope to never forget.  Here are a few of the pictures I took of my little girl and boy one day while we were talking and playing on the couch.

She was awesome with this shoot.  She normally doesn't like to look into the camera very much...but she and I kept talking (about the birds in her pecan trees and about what we were doing today and just so much more).  I loved our talk.  As we talked she let me take pictures and even looked into the camera for me.  And I have to say I love her eyes!!  She got them from her great grandfather.  Neither her dad or I have blue eyes...but they are so beautiful on her.

Little guy was doing something he loves while we talked - playing games on his phone.  I loved this because this is how we see him when he gets so involved with what he is watching.  He will look up to tell us all about it and then watch a little more.  He loves to tell stories when he watches anything.  And I love that about him.  :-)

I'm so excited about this new photography adventure!!  Please follow our circle around to see some more amazing "Up Close Portraiture".  You can check out Boston, MA portrait photographer Lisa Sheehan of Lisa Sheehan Photography's post here next.   You'll absolutely love her work!!

The Next Johnny Football :-) {Frisco and McKinney Area Sports Photographer}

This one is for all of you Aggie fans out there.  :-)  My dad is a Texas A&M graduate and of course the Aggies had an amazing football season this past year.  So when Johnny Football led the Aggies to such a great season, a special gift found its way under the Christmas tree for my little man.  And when he opened it, my dad was excited to tell me all about the NEXT Johnny Football.  :-)

Doesn't he look adorable with his Aggie jersey on?  No pressure from this Momma to be a football star but man he sure is cute!  :-)

Of course with the jersey on, I couldn't resist, I had to take him to a football field to let him play.  And he loved it!!  (And for all of you that are wondering, YES, that is my hometown "Fightin' Farmer" football field.  Hehe!!)

And of course, every football player needs a cheerleader.  Oh she had so much fun - jumping and yelling "Yay" and "Go".  Oh so cute!!

Just this Momma's opinion but I think she makes a pretty cute football player too.  ;-)

"Touchdown!!"  This play date was a huge success!  They had a great time!  (And just so you know...sorry Aggie fans...they were saying "Touchdown Cowboys".)

I have to say this was so much fun for me!!  I love when my kids can play and have a good time and I can capture those moments too.  We all had such a great time with this that we've been talking about when we can go play football again.

In fact, I would love to do a session like this for you and your kids too.  These would make the best Father's Day gifts.  In fact, Dad if you are reading this please stop here.  :-)  These are going to make a great Father's Day gift for us too this year.   Please just email me if this is something you would be interested in and we can definitely make it happen. We could create an amazing story through pictures of your kids and your husband's/dad's favorite sport.  He will love it!!  :-)

Valentine Mini-Sessions with the R Kids {Frisco, McKinney, and Allen TX Valentine Photographer}

What a fun Valentine's mini session!!  I got the chance to spend some time with these beautiful little Valentine twins about a week ago and we had such a good time.

We started our session with our "Hugs and Kisses".  Mom had brought these super cute XO letters.  Talk about adorable!!

Then we snuggled up our bear.  This was a huge hit with both kids.  I think they would have snuggled with him all day if we  hadn't moved on to the next set of pictures.  :-)

Of course, what is a Valentine's Day without roses?

And look at these little personalities.  Sweetness, smiles, adventurous...all wrapped in.

We ended our session with Valentine cookies.  I loved capturing all of those sweet little details.

Sessions like this just make me smile.  I love watching the kids having a good time.  And I love capturing those sweet smiles, sweet hands, and sweet faces.  Thank you Wendy and Kevin for letting me a part of your Valentine's this year.

And it's not too late to get your own Valentine pictures.  We have some beautiful days coming up.  You can check out more details for these sessions hereEmail me today to get your session set up.  I can't wait to take pictures for you!!

What to Wear for Your Photoshoot {Carrie Saindon Photography}

You finally booked a photography session that you are super excited about.  You can't wait to capture all of those beautiful family moments.  Then you realize you have to pick out the perfect outfits.  And truthfully that can be a little overwhelming sometimes.  As a mom I'm right there with you - trying to find the perfect outfits for my own family pictures can definitely seem daunting.

As a photographer though I've been very lucky to have some very fashionable clients.  So I decided maybe it would help if I could give you guys a place to find inspiration.  I created a "What to Wear" Pinterest board that you can check out here in case you could use some ideas.

And a few extra tips:
  • Wearing coordinating colors always looks great in  pictures.  (No need to match each other perfectly.)
  • Logos and big prints can be distracting.  (It can take your eye away from your beautiful faces.)
  • Dressing casual or more formal is perfectly okay.  (Your family pictures reflect just that - your family.  Dress in whatever way makes you most comfortable).
I hope these tips and the Pinterest Board help you out but if you still have questions or concerns about what would look best at your next session, please feel free to ask me.  We can definitely work together to find the perfect look for your family.  I want you to be able to find those outfits and then be able to relax and enjoy every minute of your session.

Best Faces of 2012 {An I Heart Faces Challenge}

The "I Heart Faces" challenge this month is to show off your best face picture of 2012.  It was definitely a challenge to choose just one favorite but look at this beautiful face.  I just loved this little girl's fashion.  I think the pink cowboy hat is just awesome!

This picture is from a Bluebonnet session I did in the Spring last year.  It was with one of the first families who gave me the opportunity to shoot for them once I started my business.  I am so thankful for them!!

You can check out other beautiful faces on the I Heart Faces website as well.

The "H" Family {Frisco, TX Family Photographer}

When I had my twins, I joined a twin moms group in the area.  I have to say it was one of the best things I did because my kids and I met some of our closest friends through it.   My kids absolutely love these twins and talk about them all of the time - always looking forward to the next play date.  So of course, when they asked me to take family pictures, I jumped at the chance.  Here are some of my favorites from our shoot:

Thanks again Beverly and Niki for choosing me to do pictures for you guys!!  I really enjoyed it.  And I enjoyed meeting the whole family!
