Watermelon Play Date {Letters to Our Children}

Starting the summer with a new, cooler, super cute haircut.  ♥

To my sweet kids:

I have been looking forward to our summer vacation for a while now!  We are going to have so much fun.  We've already started with fun play dates and sweet friends.  (You guys had a blast at our watermelon play date.  I loved watching you guys play and laugh together.  I also love that we have such sweet neighbors.)  Plus we've been able to catch up with some wonderful, life long friends too.

We have started swim lessons this year too.  It is amazing how much you guys have improved since last year.  I have a feeling we're going to have two fish by the end of the summer.  Little guy, you have no fear when it comes to swimming.  You have been swimming and jumping in the water with no problem during your first week.  Little girl, you are a little more timid, but have come such a long way.  You will go under water and have taken a few strokes without even realizing it.  I won't be surprised to see you swimming at the end of our second week.

Another thing you guys have started doing is playing cards and board games.  So while we're not out in the garden, playing outside, or playing with friends, we spend a lot of family time playing games, which has been a huge hit with all of us.  (Crazy 8's and Monopoly are our current games of choice.)

It's going to be a busy summer.  We have big plans for sports camp, flag football, and cheerleading this summer too.  With a fun vacation coming up and more play dates, I have a feeling this summer is going to go by way too fast.  I am loving every minute with you guys though.

Love you guys to the moon and back!!

I am participating in a blog circle with a great group of moms who are writing letters to their children as well.  We're doing it together as a way of supporting each other and as a reminder to keep writing when life gets so busy.  I'm so glad to be a part of such a great group of ladies.  You can follow our circle with Sara's sweet letter next.
