Food Photography {Clickin Moms Creativity Blog Circle}

I can't believe it's already time for our second Clickin Moms Creativity Challenge.  This month's challenge was a yummy one - Food Photography.

The kids and I decided to surprise Daddy with cupcakes for Valentine's Day.  And oh my gosh they were so good!  We all loved them and have decided we will definitely be getting them again soon.  :-)

{These cupcakes are from Dimples Cupcake Factory in Frisco.  Yes, you should definitely try them!!}

{The Black Velvet Cupcake - This was hands down our favorite.  It was so rich and chocolaty.  As my little girl would say "Belicious!!"}

{The Snickers Cupcake - Seriously tasted like a Snickers Bar.}

{The Strawberry Cupcake - My little girl picked this one out because she loves the Strawberry Shortcake series.  She was so excited about it.  And it was definitely a good choice.}

{The Wedding Cake Cupcake - This was little man's choice.  This was another favorite for us.  It was so moist.  Hehe...needless to say we all had a little bit of every one of them.  YUMMY!  YUMMY!}

I hope you have enjoyed my take on food photography.  And I hope you will follow our circle around starting with my friend Mindy.

And if you missed our circle last month, please grab a cup of coffee and a cupcake and join us here.  :-)

Announcing 2013 Texas Bluebonnet and 2013 Spring Sessions {Frisco and McKinney TX Wildflower Photographer}

I'm so excited that it's almost Spring! And I'm even more excited to be offering Spring and Bluebonnet sessions this year. After giving it a lot of thought, I've decided to give you guys two options for session types this Spring:

Option 1. {The Classic Mini-Session} $75 This will be the 30 minute session I have offered in the past. We will work together to find the perfect location and time for you and your family to have a session. We will capture as many stunning images as possible within our time frame. Within 2-3 weeks of your session, you will receive a cd of 10-15 high resolution images from your session.

Option 2. {The Deluxe Session} $125 I know some people prefer more time and more pictures so this session is for you. It will be a minimum of 1 hour with 20-25 high resolution images on a cd. We will work together to find the perfect location and time for you and your family. We will take our time and capture your family in a way that works best for you. Within 2-3 weeks of your session, you will receive your cd of images. (This would be an ideal session for people with small kids or with large families.)

So if you have been thinking about getting a photography session this Spring or about getting one of those amazing Texas Bluebonnet sessions, now is your opportunity. Email me today and we will get your session on the calendar. I can't wait to take some pictures for you!! :-)

And in case you are wondering, the Bluebonnets usually start blooming in April. So as soon as I see them, I'll give you dates and times for your sessions.

Happy Valentine's Day {Love Letters to Our Children}

Some of my friends in my moms group and I have decided to create a blog circle where we will share monthly letters to our children.  In a world where we all get so busy with life, for me it is an opportunity to slow down and hopefully record some of our moments together for them.

To my handsome little boy.   You are my first born by mere seconds.  You were born at 3 lbs and 15 oz but you were a fighter from the beginning.  I am amazed when I look at you (and your sister) at how far you both have come.  No one would ever guess you were preemies.
You are my little ball of energy.  Even before you were born the nurses would joke about how you were the boss. They would put monitors on my belly to listen for your heart rate and usually within seconds you would kick the monitors off.   You never liked to be contained or still for too long and you still don't.  You are happiest when you can play outside with your Frisbee or wrestle with other little boys.  You love to pretend to be Spiderman (or Superman, Captain America, or Iron Man).  And you just recently discovered Star Wars Angry Birds.  Hehe...I see light sabres in our near future.  ;-)
I love your smile - that little dimple just makes my heart melt every time.  I love the hugs and kisses that you need especially every ten minutes or so at bed time.  I love listening to you talk about your day, or "dot com", or marvel (all those little terms that have made it in your vocabulary even though I question sometimes how you know them).  I love how you ask me every morning "Momma, how we going to do today?" because you love to know the plan so you can get excited for the day.
I couldn't imagine my life without you now.  I love you so much buddy!!  You will always be my baby!!!  (Even though you recently told me "I don't know about that.  I'm getting big.")  :-)

To my beautiful sugars.  You are my princess.  You were born itty bitty too - 3 lbs 11 oz - but you have always had a heart of gold.  You have so many sweet qualities about you.  You are definitely my little helper.  You love to help grandma walk her dog.  You've been doing this since you were 18 months old or so and you are so cute doing it.  You love to help us cook.  Daddy often calls you his little chef.  And you love to help Daddy "dig the dirt" in his flower beds too.  In fact if anyone mentions needing help, you are almost immediately by their side to see what you can do.  And I love that about you!

You are also my snuggler.  ♥ ♥  Every morning once you wake up, you come and climb in bed with me.  You like to grab my arms and put one underneath you and one over the top of you so that I am hugging you while we sleep for a few more minutes.  It's definitely the best way to wake up in the morning.

I love so many things about you my little girl.  I love how you always want to put a dress on when you hear music so that  you can dance.  I love how you spontaneously tell me that you are momma's girl, that you love me, and how things are the "BEST EVER!".  I love how I hear you repeat the little things I tell you to other people in conversations (most of the time anyway).  :-) And I absolutely love that beautiful smile.

I couldn't imagine my life without you either baby girl.  I love you so much!  I definitely love you to the moon and back.

{These are our Valentine pictures that we took recently at the Frisco Heritage Museum.  Happy Valentines Day everyone from my babies and me!!}

{And a quick share.  :-)  After our pictures, I gave them both cookies.  And this was definitely a proud mommy moment for me.  He grabbed his cookie and told me "I have the Joy, Joy, Joy down in my heart".  Talk about making your heart melt.  Love him to pieces!!}

{Hehe...and what are pictures without bribes ummm I mean cookies.}
Happy Valentine's everyone!!  And please go check out the beautiful Valentine's letter my friend Laura wrote to her children as well.

Love {An I Heart Faces Challenge}

This month's "I Heart Faces" challenge is love.  Definitely the perfect challenge with Valentine's Day coming up.  When I saw it, I had the perfect maternity picture of a little boy kissing his mommy's belly bump picked out.  But then we went to the park with my sister and I fell in love with this picture.  I was taking some pictures of my sister for a project I'm working on and my little guy kept running in to give her a hug.  I know I'm biased, but I love, love, love this.  :-)

You can check out more beautiful "Love" pictures on the I Heart Faces website as well.

Luxe Clothing Bar {Boutique Photography}

I got to do a shoot this past week that I'm really excited about!!  My kids and I met my sister at the park and took pictures for a friend's new business - Luxe Clothing Bar.  Doesn't my sister look beautiful?!  She is wearing a cardigan from my friend's boutique...and she looks absolutely gorgeous in it in my opinion.  :-)

You can find more beautiful clothes in my friend Judy's new business here.  She started her business when she realized there was just not an easy way to shop for affordable boutique fashion when you are trying to juggle the responsibilities of having a full time job and enjoying a full family life.  Her hope is to make shopping easier for the rest of us by offering fashionable and affordable clothing in her online boutique.

So here's how it works.  Every Tuesday night at 9 pm, she will have a fixed priced auction on each of her items on the Luxe Clothing Bar Facebook page.  You just leave a comment on the ones you want.  If you comment and she still has it in stock, then it is yours.  In fact the first auction will be tomorrow night, February 5th.  Be sure to check it out!!

And one more happy surprise, for all of my readers (within the United States) you will get free shipping on your items at the auction tomorrow night!!

So happy shopping and here are a few more pictures from our shoot.  :-)
