Country Roads

Loving our little country roads!!  ♥ ♥ ♥  Okay, which mom makes the kids go stand in the rain (just sprinkling a little though) to get pictures?  This Momma!  Hehe...they were great sports about it and we did have fun though!  :-)

I think this picture truly captures them!  I asked them to hug.  So she picks him up.  They laugh uncontrollably and I have to make sure I stop them before they knock each other over.  Good times!  ;-)
(Also notice how he is not hugging her...not because he doesn't want to.  He has a lady bug and rolly polly in his hand that can NOT be put down until after we are done.)
I love these two so much!!

I love my adventures with these two!!

Spring with the G Family {Allen TX Family Photographer}

I can't believe it had been a year since I had seen these little ones.  They have grown so much since I've seen them.  I could hardly believe it.  But talk about sweet kids and a sweet family, I'm so glad I got to spend a beautiful Spring day with them.  Aren't they all just too cute?!

Thank you so much G family for letting me take family pictures for you guys!!  You guys were so much fun.  I definitely left our session with a smile.

Sweet One Year Old {Frisco, TX Cake Smash Photography}

I absolutely LOVE smash cake sessions!  There is definitely a little bit of unpredictability to them because you never know if the little one is going to like the cake or not.  But oh my goodness when you have such a sweet one year old in front of you, who is having such a great time with her cake, it is so cute and so much fun!!  Look at how much fun little Miss H is having (especially in the first picture) - I just love it!!

Thank you guys so much for letting me do a one year shoot and smash cake for Miss H!  I loved getting to spend an afternoon with you and loved that we captured such sweetness as we dodged in and out of the rain.  :-)

Easter Tulips with my kids {Letters to our Children}

To my two favorite kiddos:

Almost 4 years ago now, your dad and I decided to move you guys to our small town.  We decided to do this because we both grew up in small towns ourselves.  We wanted to raise you in a community where you are known and loved, where people will watch out for you as you grow.  We wanted you guys to have the relaxation of the country with a strong knit community.  We were very blessed to move to a community with an amazing school district and wonderful people.

As you guys have entered pre-K, I have been amazed at how much you have learned about not only academic type stuff but also about friendships and social interactions.  I love that your teacher is teaching you guys how to navigate both your emotions and your interactions with other kids.  I also love that when I pick you up on the car line after school, I see every teacher love on the kids, talk to the kids, give them a hug.

You guys are making some really sweet friends too.  We went to this tulip patch with some of our neighbors.  You guys were so excited to see their little girl there.  You ran around the hay maze with her and looked at the beautiful tulips with her.  It was such a fun night.  I love that we are all making new friends as we go.

I hope you guys look back one day when you are grown and feel blessed by this small town we are in.

Love you guys so much!
Mommy

♥ ♥ ♥

And just an extra side note:  We went to an Easter egg hunt at one of the local churches here.  Before they started the hunt, they told the story of the resurrection through little surprises in  Easter eggs.  For example in one egg there were nails that represented the nails that nailed Jesus to the cross.  The very last egg they shared was an empty egg.  It represented that the tomb was empty and that Jesus arose and went to Heaven to be with God.  The whole thing really got you guys talking.

My favorite part though was on our way home from the Easter egg hunt, as you were opening your Easter eggs to see what was inside of them, from the backseat I heard an excited, "I got an arose egg".  It took me a minute to figure out what you meant, my sweet E, but you were so excited to get an empty Easter egg like the one they told about in the Easter egg story.  I loved that instead of being disappointed it didn't have anything in it, it made you think of Jesus and his resurrection.

I am participating in a blog circle with a great group of moms who are writing letters to their children as well.  We're doing it together as a way of supporting each other and as a reminder to keep writing when life gets so busy.  I'm so glad to be a part of such a great group of ladies.  You can follow our circle with Sara's sweet letter next.

Pastel {An I Heart Faces Challenge}

It's been a little while since I've entered an "I Heart Face's" challenge but when I saw the challenge theme was pastel, I couldn't wait to share one from our visit to the tulip farm (Texas Tulips).  We got very lucky this year.  A small tulip farm opened not too far from us and it is so beautiful.  I hope I get to take my kids back to it every year now.

Spring with the T Kids {Denton TX Child Photography}

I love getting to see these two each year!  They are both just so sweet - always smiling, always have wonderful stories to tell me.  They just make me smile.  I am having a hard time believing they are turning 5 and 6 already though.

Thank you T family for spending the morning in Denton with me.  I loved getting to take pictures for you guys!!
