Beautiful Ugly {Clickin Moms Creativity Blog Circle}

Our Clickin Moms creativity challenge this month was "Beautiful Ugly".  The idea was to take something that most people would consider ugly and take a picture showing the interest and beauty in it.

The picture I took for the challenge is a picture of my Mother's Day flowers.  I love getting flowers for any occassion.  They just some how make me happy.  I especially loved hearing the kids tell me "Happy Mommy's Day" when they gave them to me.  It's the first year they truly understood what it all meant and it was so sweet to hear.

But of course, flowers don't last forever.  I took this picture on the last day we kept the flowers.  You can see the flower petals and leaves falling around the base of them and they were definitely fading fast.  But even now looking at them...they still have a sweetness and a beauty to me because they are my special Mother's Day flowers.  :-)  (Hehe, I know - I am a little sappy and sentimental that way.)

Please follow the rest of our circle around to see all the beauty that was captured by everyone else.  You can check out Bobbi-Jo Stuart of Love Bee Photography's Beautiful Ugly post next - so creative!!

And in case you missed any of the previous challenges, you can find them here:

A New Look for the Website | Amber Kuntz and Associates {Denton TX Photography}

I was very excited when Amber (of Amber Kuntz and Associates) asked me to take new pictures of her, her staff, and her office to update their website.  I had gotten the chance to take family pictures for Amber and her beautiful family last Fall so I knew it would be fun working with her again.  I have to tell you, she and her staff are definitely a very warm and friendly bunch.  Thank you guys for letting me spend a Saturday morning with you.

 If you need new head shots or pictures for your website, please just send me an email.  I would love to work with you too!

2013 Texas Bluebonnets | My Kids {Letter to our Children}

To my favorite 3 year olds:

One of my favorite traditions each year is taking you guys to the Bluebonnets.  We have done this every year since you were born.  Even when you were little bitty (about 7 months old) we took you out and put you on your little boppies to take your pictures.  Oh my gosh - talk about cute!!  :-)

This year we planned a fun evening of it.  You guys love flowers and were especially excited  to see the blue flowers.  Daddy and I took you guys after dinner one night and we played, danced and rode in Grandpa Bob's wagon in the flowers.  We had so much fun.  Afterwards Daddy surprised us with a trip to the frozen custard store.  It was a great night - one of those family nights that made me feel so incredibly blessed that I got to spend it with all of my favorite people.  :-)

I definitely look forward to our Bluebonnet trip each year.  I can't wait to do it with you guys again next year.  :-)

Love you guys SO MUCH!!

Some of my friends in my moms group and I have decided to create a blog circle where we will share monthly letters to our children. In a world where we all get so busy with life, for me it is an opportunity to slow down and hopefully record some of our moments together for them. Please check out my friend Liesl's beautiful letter to her children here and then follow our circle around until you get back to me.

1 Year Milestone | Emma Kate {Allen, TX Childrens Photographer}

Look who just turned 1!  Isn't she adorable?  Miss Emma Kate had her first birthday recently.  I am so excited I got to meet her and take some pictures to help her celebrate.

Look at those sweet smiles.  One of her favorite games while we were taking pictures was "Patty Cake".  She had it down so well...talk about cute!

She is sitting on the quilt Grandma made for her room.  I have to say I LOVE that blanket.  It makes me want to look for new bedding for my little girl now.  :-)  Of course the beautiful little girl sitting on top of it makes it even more adorable.  Look at those eyes!

What a great looking family!!
 (In case you are wondering where we found a waterfall...these are all taken at  Watters Creek in Allen.)

Check out this special gift for Emma Kate's Dads.  What a beautiful little blessing she is!

Thank you guys for letting me be a part of Emma Kate's first birthday!  I really enjoyed meeting you all.

I would love to celebrate special birthdays and milestones with your little one too.  Please email me today so we can schedule a fun birthday session soon.

Play {An I Heart Faces Challenge}

This month's I Heart Faces challenge is "play".  Of course it made me think of these three Musketeers.  He loves Woody and Buzz.  There was even a time when we couldn't go to bed without Buzz.  I love watching them play so much!  :-)

You can check out more "Play" pictures on the I Heart Faces website as well.

2013 Texas Bluebonnets | The D Family {Plano TX Bluebonnet Photographer}

I had such a great time with the D family in the Bluebonnets.  They have such fun personalities.  They had me smiling the whole time.  But then again how could you not smile when you see how cute their kids are?  :-)

♥ ♥

She did so great!!  I loved that her little personality just shined through.

And check this little guy out.  Can you believe those eyes?!!

Of course, the two of them together make a super cute combination.  :-)

Such a beautiful family!
I always like for families to have a little couple time at the end of a shoot.  I just loved how their love for each other shined through too.

Thank you guys for letting me spend the evening with you.  I really enjoyed my time in the Bluebonnets with you!  :-)

I would love to take pictures with your family too.  Please email me if you would like to get some fun Spring sessions in this year too.  It's not too late.  :-)  You can find more information about the my Spring and Bluebonnet specials here.
