Happy Valentine's Day! {Letters to Our Children}

Happy Valentine's Day!  I am participating in a blog circle with a great group of moms who are writing letters to their children.  Because we are in February, these are our love letters to them.  (I had wanted to take some outdoor pictures of the kids for Valentine's but because it has just been too cold around here lately, we did a fun photo booth day inside instead.)  Here are our pictures and my letter to my babies.

I love how great of friends you guys are at this point in your lives.  You play together all day long and when you are away from each other, you talk about how much you miss each other.  When Daddy and I take you both for separate outings, you even want to call each other to talk.  I love how strong your bond is now and hope it stays that way forever!

"I'll love you forever.  I'll like you for always. As long as your living, my baby you'll be."  ~ Robert Munsch
Your Grannie gave me a copy of this book when I left for college.  I'm sure I'll be giving it to you one day too.  Happy Valentine's Day my babies!  I love you guys so much!!

To my loves:

I have often wondered what I would want to tell you guys about love.  I know I don't ever want to see you with a broken heart - even though I know it will one day happen.  I know when it does happen my heart will break with you.

What I want you to know about love is how wonderful it is!  I want your lives to be full of it - from me, your dad, your friends, your whole family, and eventually from the one you marry.  I want the love in your life to be just like the love talked about in the Bible.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."  (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."  (1 Corinthians 13:13)
When the time comes for you to find the person you will marry, I hope you find someone who treasures you, loves you and respects you and that you would do the same for them.  I hope you settle for absolutely nothing less.  You deserve nothing less.

You two along with your dad are some of the biggest blessings in my life.  I wish I could protect you from anything bad or anything hurtful that may ever come your way.  I know I can't but I know you guys will persevere and be absolutely amazing, loving people throughout your lives.  I am so proud of you guys and always will be.

I will ALWAYS love you with all of my heart!

Love,

Mommy
